A Kenya journey with an Option for service- Oloi Travels

 

Day 1: Arrive at the Airport where a representative from Oloi Travels will be glad to see you and take you to your accommodation.

Day 2: Feed a giraffe, adopt and elephant and learn about cultures and tradations at the Bomas of Kenya

Day 3: Drive through Kenya’s lush farmland, to Nyeri town at the base of Mt. Kenya. You will here in time for lunch. After lunch get oriented with the town and enjoy an afternoon game drive at the Solio Ranch
     
Day 4 - 5: - Touch A life
Volunteers will be introduced to the orphans and staff, and then you will start work with children.Share your love and talents with these orphaned children. The children here very much appreciate when they get reading and writing materials. You have a chance to give the children anything you've brought: toys, pens, pencils, story books etc. (of course these will be handed over to the proprietors). Volunteers are free to explore the surrounding areas when not working. Enjoy the wonders of this truly beautiful land.  Our guide will support you with any assistance that you may need.

( As an extra benefit you will be able to learn a bit of the Swahili language and the local language here) 

Day 6: This morning begins with a stop over at INSPIRE children's library and  a visit to the

community that benefits from it. Get a chance to interact with the locals as well as visit one of the schools that benefit from INSPIRE's Elimisha project of giving books to schools. Later on visit a local village and learn how 'chamas' women groups work. View art done by local children in a children's home and visit some developmental projects in this area.

 

 

Day 7: Go for a walking safari at the Aberdare national park. View animals coming to enjoy themselves at the water hole which is a truly unique experience

Day 8 & 9

Our driver guide reports to your hotel for Start of the safari to Masai Mara, Kenya's premier game reserve. Arrive at Masai Mara for lunch . The afternoon gamedrive at 3.30pm allows spotting of the unrivalled wildlife in the park. Return to your lodge.
Day 10 - Full day in Masai Mara. You enjoy two gamedrives today, one in the morning and the other in the late afternoon after lunch. As your safari is private your gamedrive timings are flexible. You may also choose to have a full day gamedrive [ one for the whole day] with a packed picnic lunch . Return is in the evening for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3 - At the break of dawn you enjoy your final gamedrive in the Mara followed bya relaxed breakfast and onward departure for Nairobi. Arrive Nairobi by early afternoon [ typically by 2.30pm] . Drop off at your hotel, or free onward transfer to the airport for your flight home.
